Job Overview

Due to an internal promotion to General Manager we are delighted to offer the vacancy of a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality, cellar duties and bartending, and will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of our establishment. This role requires excellent team management skills and a passion for providing exceptional service to our guests.

Duties
  • Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure a high standard of service and hospitality.
  • Supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to foster a positive working environment.
  • Help with food production and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to maintain quality control and efficient service delivery.
  • Train new employees on operational procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss performance, goals, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

About the role

Alcester Academy is a highly successful 11-16 school with 647 students currently on roll. The post holder is responsible for the administration and organisation. Supporting the General Manager and Deputy Manager in training a team of front of house staff in the Bar and Restaurant. Senior management who you actually know and see on a day to day basis. We recognise that staff are at the forefront of a child’s life while in residential care.

Role specifics

Schedule and compensation

Working Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week. Shifts between 7:30am–6:00pm; a mix of early and later shifts. Salary: £13.50–£14.52 per hour, dependent on role and experience. Benefits include Annual Leave: 33 days (including 8 days statutory bank holidays) and apprenticeship funding for Level 3 training where applicable. Up to two days off per week during the week. This position is LIVE OUT.
