Description

We are seeking a dynamic, flexible and committed Lecturer in Business Management with expertise in Statistics to join our academic team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and accessible teaching to a diverse cohort of students at undergraduate and foundation levels. You will be expected to contribute to module development, assessment design, and student support, ensuring an excellent learning experience.

As part of our flexible learning model, the role requires availability to teach during evenings and weekends in line with business needs and student timetables.

About the Role

The postholder will be responsible for delivering and assessing modules in Business Management, with a particular emphasis on Statistics at Level 4 and data analysis for Research Methods.

You will contribute to curriculum design, prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops, and provide academic and pastoral support to students.

A key requirement of this role is the flexibility to teach during evenings and weekends, as part of our commitment to accessible and responsive learning.

About You

Essential Skills
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification in Business Management, Statistics, or a related discipline.

  • Experience of teaching Business Management, Statistics, or other quantitative methods in a higher education setting.

  • Ability to design and deliver inclusive, engaging, and effective learning experiences for a diverse student population.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to student support and academic success.

  • Competence in using contemporary educational technologies and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in developing and delivering content through virtual learning environments (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas).

  • Engagement in pedagogical scholarship or innovation, particularly in digital or blended learning approaches.

  • A postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g., PGCert HE) or Fellowship of the HEA (or willingness to achieve it within a specified timeframe).

Additional Information

Salary Grade:
Lecturer - Ac3S - Starting from £44,128 to 46,735 per annum
Senior Lecturer - Ac3A - Starting from £48,149 to £55,755 per annum

The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

This is a full time, permanent role

Location - Bath Spa University London Campus


This role is specifically to work with our cohorts who are taught outside regular office hours, including weekend work on Saturdays and Sundays and evening work. The postholder would be expected to be on campus for at least three sessions a week and hold online session at other points when teaching is taking place. There will also be some weekday working in line with business needs and teambuilding
