We are seeking exceptional computing lecturers to join our department. As a core member of our academic staff, you will contribute through online and face-to-face teaching, administration, knowledge transfer, and public engagement. The role includes supporting our collaborative culture, blended, face-to-face, and hyflex teaching, student supervision, and module administration. The position is available part-time as a proportion of FTE.

To qualify, you should have a PhD in computing or a related area, experience as an IT practitioner, extensive teaching experience in computing subjects, and experience as a lead module tutor at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. An understanding of Birkbeck’s principles of widening participation and experience working with mature, part-time, and non-traditional learners are also important.
Additionally, you should:
Preferred experience includes designing, delivering, and convening courses in areas such as modern software development, programming in Python and Java, software engineering, data management, systems, machine learning, AI systems, networks, or information security. Professional experience as a computing practitioner is also desirable.
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to give a seminar presentation and attend an interview.
Remuneration:
Grade 7 on the College's London Pay Scale, from £42,365 to £48,424 per annum. The salary includes a consolidated weighting/allowance applicable to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in London.
