Job Description:

Southampton Solent University’s Warsash Maritime School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Marine Engineering to contribute to the delivery of our Marine Engineering and Electro-Technical Officer seafarer programmes. The focus will be on Management level UK MCA Engineering Knowledge courses and other Marine Engineering courses. The candidate will participate in the school's research activities and enhance the student experience.

The school is renowned for practice-led maritime education, preparing future industry leaders. The Marine Engineering team educates cadets and officers supporting careers at sea and ashore.

The successful candidate must hold a management level certificate from a UK-recognized country and a relevant undergraduate/postgraduate degree (e.g., Shipping, Marine Engineering, Maritime Business). Flexibility to teach various subjects is essential.

Salary depends on qualifications and experience, within the stated band. A 10% WMA allowance applies, plus 35 days leave and public holidays. Development opportunities include upskilling to PhD and postgraduate teaching qualifications. The start date is September 2025.
