The School of Commercial, Creative and Professional Studies at Merton College is seeking a Lecturer in IT to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students, aiming to maximize achievement and continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in curriculum development, employer engagement, and learner skill development. As a Course Leader and Pastoral Tutor, you will create and implement innovative teaching methods and assessment strategies, supported by effective learning materials and applications.
Qualifications include a degree or professional qualification in IT, a teaching qualification, recent IT teaching experience in an FE College or school, and experience teaching IT-related courses. Skills in programming languages, data modeling, cybersecurity, and website development are required. Familiarity with the current IT BTEC Framework, T-Level curriculum, and Apprenticeships in IT is essential.
You should have a proven track record of tutoring, supporting learners, and setting and reviewing targets. Evidence of good-to-outstanding teaching, assessment, tracking, and employer engagement is necessary. Strong computer literacy, office software skills, presentation, delivery, time management, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual salary increases based on the cost of living review in the new academic year.
