Job summary

Here at Merton College, a Lecturer is sought to provide tutorial and pastoral care for groups of learners with learning disabilities/difficulties (SEND) and to monitor work experience activities. You will act as Course Leader and take responsibility for their study programme, engage in all aspects of student assessment and accreditation, and contribute to curriculum planning and product development.

The role involves embedding mathematics and English to SEND to support the College’s strategic

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification and a relevant professional qualification are essential.
  • Experience working with SEND learners and knowledge of SEND curriculum changes.
  • Understanding of accreditation framework, assessment strategies, and RARPA.
  • Experience with external agencies and assessment or IV practices for specialist accreditation.
  • Experience using information technology and assistive technology to support learning.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and DBS processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tutorial and pastoral care for learners with learning disabilities/difficulties.
  • Act as Course Leader, taking responsibility for the study programme.
  • Monitor work experience activities and oversee accreditation processes.
  • Embed mathematics and English to SEND and contribute to curriculum planning.
  • Engage in all aspects of student assessment and contribute to product development.
  • Collaborate with external agencies as required.
