Job summary

Bath College is seeking an enthusiastic Personal Development Lecturer to deliver high-quality, preventative group tutorials for learners within the Construction Skills area at the Radstock campus. The role focuses on consistent, compliant and engaging PD delivery across vocational pathways.

You will teach group tutorials, contextualise PD materials, and support enrichment, campaigns and wider PD activity. The position also includes weekly enrichment support to strengthen learner participation,

Qualifications

  • Level 5 teaching qualification (DET/DTLLS) or willingness to work towards one.
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Strong written English and confident group facilitation skills.
  • Experience delivering learning or group-based support in education, youth, community or pastoral settings.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, Prevent and inclusive practice.
  • Ability to work with diverse learner groups, including SEND and foundation learning.
  • Strong organisational skills and commitment to ongoing CPD.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive group tutorials for Construction Skills learners at Radstock.
  • Contextualise centrally produced PD resources for vocational learner groups.
  • Facilitate sensitive topics using preventative, trauma-informed approaches.
  • Complete safeguarding documentation, tracking and follow-up in line with policy.
  • Support enrichment, campaigns, events and wider PD activity.
  • Contribute to PD resource creation for additional learner groups.
  • Build positive relationships with learners and promote inclusion and participation.

Compensation: £30,348 - £40,016 / year

Description

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year Monday to Thursday 8:30 am - 5 pm Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Unqualified Lecturer Salary (P25-P27 £30,348.15 - £32,186.70) Qualified Lecturer Salary L5 and above (P27-P35 £32,186.70 - £40,015.50)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inclusive Personal Development Lecturer to deliver high-quality, preventative group tutorials for learners within our Construction Skills area at the Radstock campus. This role is central to ensuring consistent, compliant and engaging Personal Development delivery across one of our key vocational pathways.

You will teach group tutorials, contextualise centrally produced PD materials, and support enrichment, campaigns and wider PD activity. The role also includes agreed weekly enrichment support, helping to strengthen learner participation, wellbeing and inclusion.

This position is ideal for someone with strong facilitation skills and a background in youth work, pastoral support, counselling, mentoring or other holistic roles, or someone ready to develop within a supportive, values-driven team.

Desirable
