Fixed Term Maternity Cover until November 2027

The post holder will teach, tutor and assess the work of History students. They will have expertise in 20 th century British social and cultural history and serve an active role as a team member for the History programmes at Winchester. The Lecturer in Modern History will have a track record commensurate to career stage for successful research, and successful delivery of undergraduate teaching, both as a module leader and on team-taught modules. The Lecturer in Modern History will supervise undergraduate and potentially MA-level dissertations depending on need, and act as Personal Academic Tutor to undergraduate students. The Lecturer in Modern History may also teach at L3/Foundation Year depending on need.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach set areas, though there may be some room for the individual’s own materials to be substituted where possible and reasonable. The general area of expertise sought is in 20 th -century British social and cultural history, broadly speaking.
