Loughborough College is seeking a dedicated maths teacher for its Foundation Learning Department. The role involves teaching Functional Skills and GCSE maths to Entry Level and Level One students, focusing on equipping them for apprenticeships and further education. The Loughborough College Foundation Learning Department invites applications for an inspiring, dynamic, and committed individual to teach maths. Our Foundation Learning courses target students entering education at Entry Level or Level One, aiming to equip learners with skills for apprenticeships, supported or skilled employment, further education, or independent living.
The successful candidate will teach Functional Skills and resit GCSE maths to a diverse range of learners on both level 1 and entry level programmes, alongside vocational courses. You will join a vibrant cross-college maths team involved in regional and national development initiatives to foster innovation in post-16 mathematics teaching and learning.
We seek someone capable of delivering inspiring lessons, monitoring learner progress, and ensuring all students meet their target grades through appropriate assessments and high-quality feedback. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated, and skilled in engaging learners through varied, high-quality teaching strategies.
Applicants should have previous experience teaching maths, possess a relevant degree or equivalent, and hold or be working towards a teaching qualification. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.
