You would set high expectations for learners and contribute to an environment that encourages all learners to be aspirational. The postholder could teach on a range of courses and levels, with teaching hours per week.

The School of Foundation Learning caters to a diverse cohort of learners, many of whom have had a disrupted educational journey or who may have ALN, and may benefit from a more nurturing environment when beginning their Post-16 journey. We act as a stepping stone into mainstream areas, offering vocationally tailored courses in the following areas:

  • Hair & Beauty
  • Construction
  • Catering
  • Health & Social Care
  • Sport
  • Creative Industries
  • Performing Arts

As such, we would welcome applicants who may have experience in one of the above areas as well as applicants who have a proven track record in meeting the needs of learners with increased pastoral support needs, challenging behaviours, have ALN, and who may not have had a traditional educational journey.
