Job summary

Wirral Metropolitan College is seeking a Lecturer in Engineering to join our team on a 35 hours per week, full-time, permanent basis. The role offers a salary of £31,410 to £43,440 per annum and involves delivering formal teaching, personal tutoring, and developing learning materials.

You will hold Level 3 (or above) Engineering qualifications, plus Level 2 English and Maths, with proven teaching experience and collaboration with external agencies.

Qualifications

• Level 3 or above City and Guilds Engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Level 2 or above literacy/English and numeracy/maths qualifications.
• Experience of teaching Engineering.
• Experience of working with external agencies.
• Knowledge of Engineering up to level six.
• Knowledge of operation of quality systems.

Responsibilities

• To carry out formal scheduled teaching.
• To act as a personal tutor to a group/s of students.
• To prepare learning materials and students’ assignments.
• To mark students’ work and examinations, moderation and verification.
• To lead and operate as part of a team in the monitoring, reviewing and evaluation of all aspects of the programme(s).
• To lead in maintaining appropriate programmes, college records and quality system.
