Job summary

Hugh Baird College is seeking two Electrical Installation Lecturers to join the Building Services team at Port Academy Building, Liverpool. The roles are full-time and permanent, with competitive terms and a focus on delivering Level 1–3 teaching to diverse learners.

Candidates should have strong trade expertise, the ability to teach and assess, and ideally prior teaching experience. A Level 3 electrical qualification is essential, with a willingness to work towards formal teaching

  • Recent and relevant industry experience.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Ability to motivate, support and challenge learners.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across Levels 1–3 for 16–18 learners, adults and apprentices.
  • Assessing and supporting learners to achieve their goals.
  • Providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate course records.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
  • Joining a supportive team to develop the next generation of electricians.

Hugh Baird College is seeking two committed Electrical Installation Lecturers to join our Building Services team. These roles are essential to supporting our learners and curriculum for the new academic year.

We are looking for candidates who bring strong trade expertise and the ability to deliver high‑quality teaching and assessment.

While we welcome applicants transitioning from industry, at least one of these appointments must have prior teaching or training experience due to curriculum needs.

About the Role

As a Lecturer in Electrical Installation, you will deliver high‑quality teaching across Levels 1–3 to:

  • 16–18 learners
  • Adult students
  • Apprentices

Your responsibilities will include:
