Job summary

Loughborough College Group is seeking a Lecturer in Brickwork at Brooksby College to deliver across the department's provision. You will plan and deliver brickwork courses, assess learners and manage the learning journey, supporting students with their qualifications.

The role requires current knowledge of brickwork, industry relevance and a commitment to ongoing professional development. A teaching qualification is preferred or must be pursued, and the post offers a supportive, inclusive

• Experience to industry standards with recent industry background.
• Willingness to obtain a teaching qualification if not held.

Responsibilities

• Write schemes of work and lesson plans.

• Devise and implement individual learning and assessment plans.
• Undertake tutorial and pastoral roles with learners.

Job description

We are looking for a Lecturer in Brickwork with the ability to deliver across the full range of the department's provision at Brooksby College.

You may currently be working in a construction setting looking for your first job in teaching. You will have a passion for innovation, bringing new ideas and embedding new technologies into the learning environment.

Working as part of the Construction team you will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses. You will possess an excellent knowledge and understanding of Brickwork and be able to plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Write schemes of work and lesson and review plans.
• To manage the formal assessment process to include maintenance of all assessment records
• Support learners through their programme and the specific qualification aims within.
• To devise and implement a learning and assessment plan for each individual learner.
• To undertake tutorial and pastoral roles with learners
• Possess or be willing to work towards a teaching and assessing qualification
• Experienced to the minimum industry standards required for teaching, with recent experience working in the relevant industry
• Up to date knowledge of the subject/vocational area
• Work based learning experience

As well as your relevant experience and current knowledge, you will also be willing to obtain a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if you do not already possess one.
