Job summary

Cambridge Regional College is seeking a Lecturer in Hairdressing to join a dynamic team. The role is primarily based at Cambridge with some teaching at Huntingdon campus, on a part-time, full-year basis.

The post offers a competitive salary (£18,037–£26,551 pa part-time, equivalent to £29,662–£43,662 pa full-time) plus staff benefits; fixed term until July 2027. CRC provides generous rewards and staff development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high quality teaching across Hairdressing levels (1–3).

  • Plan, prepare, and assess coursework, practicals and theory.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and maintain CRC’s vocational training reputation.
  • Provide pastoral support to help learners reach their potential.

Job description

Cambridge Regional College is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Lecturer in Hairdressing to join our dynamic team and help shape the next generation of industry professionals. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator or an experienced stylist looking to move into teaching to make a real impact in a thriving FE environment. While mainly based at our Cambridge campus, there will be times when there will be a requirement for you to teach at our Huntingdon campus.

You will join us on a part time (22.5 hours), full year basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between £18,037 - £26,551 per annum, equivalent to a full-time salary of £29,662 - £43,662 per annum, plus staff benefits.

This position is fixed term until July 2027.

About the role:

Deliver engaging, high quality teaching across a range of Hairdressing programmes (Levels 1-3).

Support learners in developing strong technical, creative, and professional skills aligned with industry standards.

Plan, prepare, and assess coursework, practical sessions, and theory lessons.

Contribute to curriculum development and help maintain our excellent reputation for vocational training.

Provide pastoral support and guidance to ensure learners achieve their full potential.

What we are looking for in our role:

We're looking for someone who brings energy, expertise, and a genuine commitment to learner success. You should have:

  • A recognised Hairdressing qualification (Level 3 or above).
  • Strong industry experience and up to date technical knowledge.
  • A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Excellent communication skills and a learner centred approach.
  • A passion for inspiring students and supporting their progression into the hairdressing industry.
