Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a Lecturer - Hair and Beauty to inspire and support learners to gain core skills for work and life.

You will deliver engaging, inclusive sessions, develop schemes of work, provide constructive feedback and monitor attendance and progression to ensure learner success. The role is full-time and fixed-term until July 2027, on-campus with London weighting where applicable.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Hair and Beauty within Further Education.
• Ability to teach across all levels and have industry background.
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies.
• Ability to differentiate effectively for mixed-ability groups.
• Experience tracking and monitoring learner progress using digital systems.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Lecturer - Hair and Beauty, you will deliver engaging and inclusive sessions to learners, supporting them to develop practical literacy skills for work, further study and everyday life.

Please note this role is 36 hours per week ona fixed term basis until 2nd July 2027.

You will:

You should have:
