Position: Due to the success and growth of our programmes we have an exciting opportunity to join our team delivering the Golf curriculum at UHI North, West and Hebrides Dornoch campus. Our two full-time degree programmes are delivered from our UHI Centre for Golf. The post of lecturer is open for applicants who have a passion for the golf industry and are looking to help the next generation of industry professionals on starting their careers in the golf industry. We are looking for someone with a strong background working in the golf industry.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide structured education to students using a variety of approaches to enable them to meet the standards required. Carrying out assessments to the standards set by the industry/awarding body, maintaining accurate assessment records, evaluating student performance and achievement, making recommendations and highlighting support needs as appropriate are also requirements of the role. The programmes contain modules relating to all aspects of golf management and professional golf. Specific delivery may be adapted to best suit the successful candidate’s areas of knowledge and experience.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills: The suitable candidate will hold an SCQF Level 7 - Level 12 qualification, normally above the level being taught and in a relevant subject area to the course and have golf industry experience, preferably with management responsibilities. Along with a proven track record of effective planning to deliver engaging learning, teaching, assessment and supervision, successful candidates must be good communicators who are self-motivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to deal with rapidly changing priorities and meet tight deadlines. A teaching qualification, preferably TQFE, PGDE or equivalent, or a Masters in Education would be advantageous to your application.
