About the role:

The Bedford College Group is currently seeking an English Lecturer to join our Maths and English Department at our Bedford College Campus, Cauldwell Street.

As an English Lecturer, you will play a key role in the success of our students by:

  • Preparing, delivering, and assessing English courses across various levels.
  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realize their potential.
  • Managing students’ learning and providing a high-quality learning experience.
  • Contributing proactively to curriculum development and innovative teaching within the Department.
  • Participating in marketing and promotional activities to support various programmes and learning opportunities.

About you:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A relevant degree and/or Level 5 qualification in English.
  • Certificate in Education/PGCE or equivalent, or willingness to achieve one.
  • English and Mathematics GCSEs at grade A-C or equivalent, or relevant industry experience in the subject sector.
  • Experience of meeting deadlines and monitoring data with appropriate actions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of subject developments and sharing expertise with colleagues.
  • Evidence of high performance in previous roles.
  • Experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • An understanding of promoting equality and diversity.
  • Ability to research, develop, and implement engaging learning materials.
  • Ability to develop vocational opportunities to extend students' learning experiences.
  • Responsibility for safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults, including raising concerns.
  • Willingness to travel and work at all our locations.
