Job summary

Kingston College is seeking a Lecturer in Engineering to teach FE and HE vocational courses, predominantly Level 2/3 for full-time and apprenticeship students. You will deliver, conduct and monitor progress in line with college policies, ensuring high-quality provision.

The role covers Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Principles and Mathematics, with potential HE Engineering teaching up to Level 5. Relevant degree and a Level 3 teaching qualification are required.

  • Degree-level education in engineering.
  • Teaching qualification with Level 3 experience in an Engineering environment or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of new technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Teach FE and HE vocational courses with focus on Level 2/3 programmes.
  • Deliver, conduct and monitor progress of students in line with college policies.
  • Support apprenticeship students and adapt delivery across units.
  • Contribute to quality standards and continuous improvement in teaching.

Job description

Here at Kingston College, we are looking for a Lecturer in Engineering to teach both FE and HE vocational courses. Predominantly on vocational Level 2/3 programmes for full time and apprenticeship students, you will be responsible for the delivery, conduct and progress of students on these courses in line with College and School policies and procedures, ensuring the provision is of high quality.

The requirements of this role are to teach Engineering on a range of units which may include areas of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Principles and Mathematics. These can be discussed at interview, as there are a range of units that can be used. Additionally, there may be some opportunities to teach HE Engineering up to Level 5.

We're looking for someone who is educated to degree level (or holds a high academic qualification) in an appropriate subject with strong knowledge of engineering relevant to the curriculum offer of the section. You will hold a teaching qualification with experience of delivering training at Level 3 in an Engineering environment or an educational setting and have knowledge of new technologies to enhance teaching and learning to support students.

With high personal standards and expectations, you will have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills, and be able to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines. You will have an awareness of academic quality standards and be receptive to new ideas and initiatives, with a creative approach to problem solving.
