Job summary

QA Limited in London (Home Based) seeks a Lecturer for Degree Apprenticeships in Data and AI. You will design modules, develop online content and run live online and face-to-face workshops within a blended learning model.

You will deliver engaging teaching, mark assessments, and lead modules to ensure high-quality learning and compliance with accreditation requirements. Collaborative teamwork and continuous programme improvements are central to the role.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate degree (MSc or equivalent).
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience delivering practical, engaging teaching in higher education.
• Industry experience in data/AI subjects.
• Excellent knowledge of data including AI frameworks and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and own multiple modules on Degree Apprenticeship programmes.
• Develop course materials including video content, exercises, slides and assessments.
• Contribute to assessment delivery and teaching activities.
• Drive continual programme improvements and high quality learner experience.
• Act as moderator and peer reviewer for modules each term.
• Gather feedback and achieve high satisfaction ratings from apprentices.
• Maintain teaching quality as per university SLA and peer observations.
• Ensure learners progress and outcomes meet accreditation requirements.
• Manage marking expectations and related SLA compliance.

About The Role

Lecturer - Degree Apprenticeships (Data and AI)

Location: London,Home Based

Your Role:

As a Lecturer in the Degree Apprenticeship team in QAA you will be working with learners that are studying alongside full-time work to develop themselves in their professional specialism. We teach using Blended Learning, which means that our Lecturers support learners through the development of online content and activities, remote interactive sessions (e.g. WebEx or discussion forums) and in live-online or Face-to-Face workshop. The role of a Lecturer includes delivery of workshops, marking and module leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• To design and take ownership for multiple modules on the Degree Apprenticeship programmes, and to contribute to the delivery of high quality learning. This will include online support throughout the programme and delivery of a series of face-to-face live online workshops
• Development of course materials for a number of modules, including video for online learning, exercises, slides and assessments
• To contribute to the wider team activities on assessment and teaching as required.
• To make an active contribution to ensure continual programme improvements, and that all apprentices receive a high quality learning experience.
• Act as moderator and peer reviewer for other modules on a termly basis.
• Feedback from apprentices in evaluations judge the quality of learning to be “very satisfied” or “satisfied”, using the Satisfaction score calculation to ensure a target of a minimum of 90% is achieved.
• Teaching and learning practice are consistently judged to be ‘good’ or ‘ outstanding’ as part of the regular peer observations of teaching and learning.
• Learners achieve good outcomes and demonstrate significant distance travelled throughout the programme.
• The programme is delivered to meet the requirements of their accredited Higher Education status.
• To ensure marking expectations and university SLA’s are met.

Your Experience:

• Excellent communication skills.
• A logical thinker and a passion to achieve.
• Ability to deliver practical and engaging teaching and learning sessions.
• Industry experience within subject area.
• Excellent, detailed knowledge of Data including:

AI & Machine Learning Expertise

• Deep understanding of AI frameworks, concepts, and real-world applications, including strong capability in prompt engineering, LLM optimisation, multimodal AI and emerging agentic AI systems (reasoning, planning, and tool using AI agents)
• Hands on experience applying machine learning techniques, statistical modelling, and generative AI methods to solve complex business problems

Programming & Frameworks

• Advanced proficiency in Python (including NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn), with experience building, training, and deploying ML models.
• Strong technical capability in key data science and AI languages and frameworks such as R, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Java, LangGraph and modern model development toolkits
• Knowledge of Apprenticeships and work-based learning, or knowledge of Higher Education.
• Understanding of equity and diversity issues.

Essential Qualifications:

• A post-graduate degree (MSc or similar)
