Job summary

York St John University London invites applications for two full-time, fixed-term Lecturer positions in Computer Science. The roles primarily support MSc Computer Science and MSc Data Science programs and upcoming AI offerings planned for February 2027, subject to validation.

You will teach, assess and contribute to curriculum development, with opportunities to engage in research and knowledge exchange within a growing research culture.

Qualifications

• A good, relevant master's degree in the subject area.
• Successful teaching experience in higher education or equivalent professional practice.
• Ability to teach postgraduate students and supervise postgraduate research.
• Experience with varied teaching approaches and technology.
• Commitment to equality, inclusion and collaborative working.
• Fellowship of Advance HE or willingness to gain it.
• PhD or doctorate completed or nearing completion is desirable.
• Experience in generating external funding through bids is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Contribute to curriculum review and development with current disciplinary knowledge.
• Develop teaching through reflection, peer support, student feedback and professional development.
• Undertake module leadership and contribute to tutoring, mentoring and programme administration.
• Support student project supervision and develop research and supervisory skills.
• Engage in independent and collaborative research or professional practice.
