Job description

The School of Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College are looking to appoint an experienced Business Lecturer to ensure that current and future students receive a first-class experience that enables them to progress and attain their qualifications at high levels and to develop long-lasting learning and employability skills

You’ll develop, initiate, promote and sustain innovative and quality improvement intervention strategies and play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development.

As our Lecturer, we’d like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and have recent teaching experience in Business in an FE College. With strong working knowledge of current framework for teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance, you’ll have a successful record of tutoring and supporting learners and of setting and implementing target setting, monitoring and reviewing progress.

You’ll have strong evidence of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and of effective employer engagement in curriculum design and delivery with the ability to work under pressure and to strict validating body deadlines. Able to use initiative, organise and prioritise, you’ll be an effective verbal and written communicator in both group and interpersonal situations.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
