Job summary

Auto-scan, a leader in automotive quality assurance and inspection, seeks a Leather Technician to join its team in Essex. You will craft luxury interiors by combining traditional leather-handling with modern standards, delivering flawless finishes for premium car programmes.

The role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and collaboration with fellow technicians. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:30am–16:30pm, with a 3-month FTC and immediate start.

Qualifications

• Experience in leather handling within an automotive setting is preferred.
• A keen eye for detail and craftsmanship is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret patterns and work orders.

• Ensure products meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain professional and proactive attitude under changing requirements.
• Liaise with other technicians to achieve the desired finishes.
• Perform rework or repairs on defective items.

The Role

Do you have a keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for fine craftsmanship? We're seeking a talented Leather Technician to join an established team manufacturing luxury interiors for some of the world's most exclusive and ultra-premium car programmes.

In this role, you'll combine traditional leather-handling skills with modern manufacturing standards, taking pride in delivering flawless finishes that exceed customer expectations.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 07:30am — 1630pm

Requirements

• Ensure products meet design specifications, tolerances and customer quality standards
• Be competent in maintaining a flexible and adaptable approach to changing requirements at short notice
• Maintain a professional, accountable, proactive and helpful attitude at all times
• Have a strong work ethic with a "can do" attitude
• Perform rework or repairs on defective items
• Liaise with other technicians to achieve desired product finishes

Skills & Experience required:

• Proven experience in leather automotive environment would be desirable
• Proficiency with leather handling techniques
• Previous experience
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
• Ability to read and interpret patterns, drawings, work orders etc
• Good time management and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Understanding of workplace Health & Safety
