Apex Property Recruitment is seeking a Director - Lease Consultancy in Birmingham to lead a team of lease advisory specialists. You will advise on landlord and tenant lease events, including rent reviews and renewals, and interpret lease terms and case law to deliver strategic results.

The role requires strong knowledge of property law, valuation methods, and market dynamics, with responsibilities across research, data analysis, portfolio management, compliance, and dispute resolution processes.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on lease events including rent reviews, lease renewals, break clauses, and dilapidations.
• Interpret and apply lease terms, statutory provisions, and case law to provide accurate technical advice.
• Respond promptly to client queries and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Attend client meetings and present findings, recommendations, and negotiation strategies.
• Analyze market comparables, rental evidence, and valuation data to support negotiations.
• Prepare detailed reports, calculations, and recommendations for lease events.
• Monitor critical lease dates and ensure timely action on renewals, reviews, and breaks.
• Assist with dispute resolution, including preparation of submissions for arbitration or expert determination.
• Maintain awareness of relevant legislation, RICS guidance, and best practice standards.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and database management for client portfolios.
• Support internal quality assurance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Participate in training, knowledge sharing, and professional development activities.
• Support recruitment and mentoring initiatives as required.
