Aith Junior High School is seeking a Learning Support Worker to assist children with additional support needs. This part-time role involves working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure quality education and care for students. Ideal candidates will have experience in child care and support inclusion in a school environment. Flexible working options are available, and the role includes a Distant Islands Allowance.
To support the care, welfare, and education of children and young people with additional support needs (ASN) in accordance with relevant legislation, policy, and guidelines.
A Learning Support Worker may work with any child or group of children within a department, mainstream class, or early learning and childcare (ELC) setting. They may work alongside or under guidance from any teacher within a school. Work may be based on an individualised education programme (IEP), which all staff working with the child or young person follow. This may involve collaboration with professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Educational Psychologists, and members of the Educational Outreach Service.
