Job Title: Learning Support Worker – ALN & Challenging Behaviour (SA33 Area)

Location: SA33 Area, Wales
Salary: £89.38
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Are you passionate about supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? Do you have experience working with children exhibiting challenging behaviour? If so, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Worker to join our team in the SA33 area. In this role, you will be working closely with students who have ALN, providing tailored support to help them reach their full potential. Your main focus will be assisting in classroom settings and supporting individual students with their learning and social development.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing and responding to challenging behaviour, providing a calm and structured environment where students can thrive. Your role will involve working under the guidance of the class teacher and ALN coordinators, ensuring that each child receives the support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with ALN, both in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Implement strategies to manage and respond to challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of personalised learning plans.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to track progress and provide feedback.
  • Promote emotional and social well-being, helping students develop positive self-esteem.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children who have ALN and challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge of ALN strategies and techniques for managing challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
  • A team player who can collaborate effectively with staff and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable, but not essential.
