Contract: Full-time / Long-term

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, school hours

Vision for Education is looking for a Learning Support Worker to join a specialist school in Cwmbran.

The school supports pupils aged 7-16, with a particular focus on children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated additional learning needs.

You'll be part of a dedicated team that takes a personalised approach to education, helping pupils feel safe, supported and confident in school. No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with pupils while helping them develop important life and learning skills.

The Role

As a Learning Support Worker in Cwmbran, you'll provide day‑to‑day support to pupils who may need additional help with communication, learning, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.

You'll work closely with teachers and other support staff to make sure pupils receive consistent and appropriate support throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils with ASC and additional learning needs
  • Helping pupils engage with classroom activities and learning
  • Encouraging communication, interaction and social development
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviourHelping pupils develop confidence and independence
  • Following individual support plans and pupil targets
  • Supporting transitions and changes to routine
  • Adapting your approach to suit individual communication and learning needs
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider support team
  • Contributing to a calm, safe and structured learning environment

You may support pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
