Job summary

Hanbury Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic LSP to join our Early Years team in West Bromwich. This permanent post offers 32.5 hours per week and a Band D SCP 9-17 (£27,254 - £31,022) pro rata, with actual salary £21,572 - £24,419 per annum.

Applicants must have substantial experience supporting children, including those with complex needs, and strong communication skills. Shortlisting will depend on a successful lesson observation and safeguarding checks.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated, experienced and highly skilled LSP to join our strong Early Years department. The role will require a high level of experience of working with children within Early Years, including those with complex additional needs. They would also bring a wealth of experience of supporting and developing children’s communication and language skills. The successful candidate would be joining a positive, supportive and welcoming team. We have high expectations of both our children and our staff.

Hanbury Primary School is committed to the welfare and safeguarding of all our children. All staff have a duty to safeguard our children and therefore we expect all staff to adhere to our Safeguarding Policy (available on the school website) and participate in annual safeguarding training. As part of the appointment procedure all staff have to undergo a DBS disclosure which will report cautions as well as convictions.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is eligible for an enhanced DBS check including a Children's Barring List Check. If you are barred from working with children, you are breaking the law if you apply for this post. Shortlisted candidates applying for a regulated activity role will be asked to complete a self-declaration and disclosure form. Any disclosures declared on this form will be discussed at interview.
