Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a Learning Partner for a welcoming primary school in Filton to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to help the pupil access learning and feel confident in the classroom.

This role requires patience, empathy and a calm, adaptable approach. An Enhanced DBS on Update Service is required or willingness to obtain one, plus 24 months of references for compliance.

• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Experience in a primary school or educational setting is highly desirable.
• Patience, compassion and ability to build positive relationships with children.
• Calm, adaptable and encouraging, even on challenging days.

Job description

We're looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Learning Partner to join a welcoming primary school in Filton, providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a genuinely rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll be helping a child build confidence, overcome barriers to learning and celebrate those brilliant little wins that make all the difference.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team, you'll provide tailored 1:1 support to help your pupil access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and feel confident in the classroom.

You'll adapt activities where needed, encourage independence and be a calm, reassuring presence throughout the school day.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Has experience working within a primary school or educational setting, this is highly desirable
• Is patient, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with children
• Can remain calm, adaptable and encouraging, even on challenging days
• Holds an Enhanced Child Only DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one
• Can provide 24 months of references as part of the compliance process

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
