Job summary

The Linden Academy is seeking a Learning Support Mentor to support pupils aged 4-11 in 1:1 and small group settings. The role focuses on learning development, inclusion, and promoting positive behaviour within a nurturing school environment.

You will join a dedicated team, building strong relationships with students, families and staff. The post is permanent, term-time plus 5 inset days, 33.75 hours per week, with start date 1 September 2026 or as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting is desirable.
• Experience working with children 1:1 is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and awareness.

Responsibilities

• Support the learning development of pupils.
• Promote inclusion for all children including those with SEN and EAL.
• Promote positive behaviour, raise self-esteem and encourage independent learning.
• Build professional relationships with staff, pupils and parents.
• Develop and agree action plans for individual pupils and groups with the class teacher.
