Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking a Learning Support Mentor in Huntingdon to support students with SEND in an on-site capacity. This part-time, permanent role starts immediately and offers a pro rata salary between £24,577 and £25,192 per year.

You will work closely with teaching staff, provide personal care where needed, and help students develop independence within an inclusive further education setting. A dedicated consultant will support you through the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEND/EDS is desirable.
• Ability to provide personal care and support students with physical or complex health needs.
• Understanding of EHCPs, safeguarding, and inclusive learning practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration with teaching staff and external professionals.
• Patient, flexible, and compassionate approach to promote student independence.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEND in daily learning activities.
• Provide personal care and assistance to students as required.
• Collaborate with teachers and external professionals to implement IEPs.
• Promote independence and inclusive learning in a supportive environment.

The successful Learning Support Mentor will have:

• Relevant qualifications in Learning Support, Health and Social Care, or a related field are desirable
• Experience supporting young people with SEND / Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
• Experience providing personal care and supporting students with physical or complex health needs
• An understanding of EHCPs, safeguarding procedures and inclusive learning practices
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside teaching staff and external professionals
• A patient, flexible and compassionate approach, with a commitment to promoting student independence
