Job summary

Turves Green Boys' School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support teachers and pupils, providing care and learning assistance to enable access to lessons for all students in a positive learning environment.

You will work under the supervision of teaching staff to assist with pupil management and the implementation of learning activities, helping pupils reach their potential through supportive, individualised support.

Qualifications

• GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
• Relevant qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
• Basic understanding of child development and learning.

Responsibilities

• Work under the instruction and guidance of teachers to undertake work, care and support programmes.
• Enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

• Having excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build a rapport with our SEN pupils;
• Adequate level of literacy and numeracy (GCSE grade C or Equivalent in English & Maths);
• Holding either a relevant qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience;
• Having a basic understanding of child development and learning.
