Job summary

The Supply Register is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work across secondary schools in Southport (PR9) and surrounding areas on a flexible supply basis.

You will support pupils in classrooms, assist teachers with lessons and classroom management, support pupils with SEND, SEMH, and create a safe, inclusive learning environment; previous experience with children is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Have a passion for supporting young people & have excellent & adaptable communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Provide additional support for pupils with SEND, SEMH and/or additional learning needs where required.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build strong working relationships with Teachers, Support staff, Pastoral teams, Parents and Carers.

The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with a new Multi Academy Trust, to recruit Learning Support Assistants on a supply basis. This could include day to day cover, shorter term, longer term and even potential permanent opportunties.

This is an excellent opportunity for flexible work within a supportive multi-academy trust, helping pupils achieve their full potential, throughout the academic year.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Provide additional support for pupils with SEND, SEMH and/or additional learning needs where required
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Build strong working relationships with Teachers, Support staff, Pastoral teams, Parents and Carers
What we are looing for:
  • Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH) is desirable but not essential
  • Newly qualified or aspiring Teaching Assistants/Learning Support Assistants are encouraged to apply
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Have a passion for supporting young people & have excellent & adaptable communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through The Supply Register)
