Job description

Learning Support Assistant - Immediate Start

Are you interested in a rewarding role where no two days are the same? Are you keen to support pupils with a range of SEN? We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to work with SEN or SEMH pupils who may struggle with relationships, engagement, and exhibit challenging behaviours.

Working days are Monday to Thursday, during term time only.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist with developing and implementing pupils' individual learning and behaviour plans.
  2. Build positive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to their individual needs.
  3. Promote inclusion and acceptance among all pupils.
  4. Encourage interaction and engagement in activities led by the teacher.
  5. Set high expectations to promote self-esteem and independence.
  6. Provide feedback on pupils' progress and achievements.
  7. Support students physically, including walking, wheelchair pushing, and manual handling.
  8. Assist with personal and intimate care.
  9. Support students in swimming or hydrotherapy pools.
Qualities Needed

  • Good attendance and punctuality
  • Team Teach certification or willingness to attend training
  • Child and Adult DBS check or willingness to obtain one

We offer a referral scheme: recommend a friend looking for a teaching or support role, and earn £125 after they work 10 days.

At Career Teachers, we comply with Agency Worker Regulations, ensuring equal pay and conditions after 12 weeks. All rates include 12.07% holiday pay.
