Job summary

Barnwood Park School in Gloucester is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to work with students across year groups, supporting learning in and beyond the classroom and contributing to pastoral and inclusion work.

You will assist with small groups and individuals, support SEND students, differentiate materials, help manage behaviour, and provide feedback to teachers and SENDCo. Barnwood Park is part of Greenshaw Learning Trust and values inclusive, high-standard education.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of child development and learning.
• Ability to work in a team and follow line management.
• Commitment to safeguarding children and communicating with parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech and language intervention.
• In-class support for identified students or small groups.
• Assist in class management with positive behaviour strategies.
• Develop and lead small group work for SEMH needs.
• Produce and differentiate teaching materials.
• Provide after-school support as required.
• Record progress and contribute to annual reviews and paperwork.
