Job summary

Chase High School, Westcliff-on-Sea, is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive team. You will help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop independence across the curriculum.

The role runs 35 hours weekly during term-time, with 38 working weeks per year and 43.5 paid weeks. The successful candidate will support individuals and small groups, assist teachers, and contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in a school, educational, or childcare setting.
• Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing of all students.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students and small groups to access learning.
• Assist teachers with planned activities and adapt support to pupil needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage engagement in lessons.
• Support SEND students to access curriculum and participate in school life.
• Monitor and provide feedback on student progress and wellbeing.
• Prepare learning resources and support IEP implementation.
• Provide pastoral and first-aid support and supervise during breaks.
