Job summary

Randstad Education seeks a Learning Support Assistant for a residential SEN setting in the Chichester area. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:00, term-time only, with a guaranteed contract until July 2027.

The role involves assisting teachers, engaging students with diverse SEN needs, and supporting their independence within a holistic education approach. Salary £88-£110 per day with on-site parking and progression opportunities.

  • Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.

  • Have experience working in SEND settings.
  • Experience working with children is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide teaching assistance to the teacher according to weekly/daily/sessional planning.
  • Provide group and/or individual activities planned by the teacher.
  • Work individually with learners/students to develop work.
  • Support the general well being of learners within the structure of the school.
  • Monitor and evaluate learners' learning under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Assist teachers in using management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning.
  • Support all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas.

Learning Support Assistant needed

£88-£110 a day

Long term/ contract role- Guaranteed until July 2027

Within the Chichester area the school is set in its own beautiful grounds. The residential special school caters for students with a range of SEN needs and has a fully enhanced curriculum. The aim of the school is to help the individual's access and progress with their independence. The school provides a fantastic holistic approach to education encompassing teaching and learning with a therapy input.

This specialised school is a non-maintained residential special school, designed to meet the educational, behavioural, care and therapeutic needs of children (age 6-16 years). The children have a range of special needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

The school is looking for a full time learning support assistant who is willing to make a difference and can engage students in their primary unit.

Hours: Monday-Friday 08:30-4pm

This is a term time only role.

Your role as an SEN learning support assistant will include:
  • To provide teaching assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/sessional planning of the teacher
