Job summary

All Together Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated support for a child with physical disabilities and communication needs at a welcoming primary school in the Newbury area.

The successful candidate will deliver tailored one-to-one support, helping the pupil access learning, communicate effectively and participate fully in school life, with safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at the heart of every day.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
• Experience supporting physical disabilities.
• Knowledge of AAC devices and communication aids.
• Experience using Makaton and/or finger spelling.
• A patient, caring and encouraging approach.
• Ability to work closely with teachers, parents and external professionals.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for the pupil.
• Help the pupil access learning and participate in activities.
• Support communication and enable effective interaction.
• Work in partnership with teachers, parents and external professionals.
• Uphold safeguarding and promote pupil wellbeing.
