Job summary

Nether Alderley Primary School in Macclesfield is seeking a kind, patient Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil for 32.5 hours per week.

You will work with the class teacher to implement EHCP objectives, support social communication, help manage anxiety and regulate emotions, provide sensory breaks and social skills activities, and encourage confidence and independence. The role involves liaising with staff, parents and other professionals to ensure consistent support.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 or higher; experience with learning, speech, language and communication needs.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a small team with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support a Year 2 pupil for 32.5 hours per week alongside the class teacher.
• Deliver objectives from the child’s EHC plan and support social communication.
• Help the child manage anxiety, regulate emotions, and provide sensory breaks.

Your role will be to work alongside the class teacher to deliver the objectives as stated in the child’s Education, Health and Care plans, including supporting social communication and interaction, helping the child manage anxiety and regulate emotions, providing sensory breaks and social skills activities, and encouraging confidence and independence.

You will be the key worker for the child and will liaise with other members of staff, parents and other professionals
