Job summary

Aldwickbury School is seeking a caring learning support assistant to assist a pupil with additional needs, supporting engagement and wellbeing in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Working with class teachers and specialists, you will implement individual plans, monitor progress and help pupils participate in lessons, visits and activities.

This part-time, term-time only role is 16 hours per week; commitment to safeguarding and a DBS check are required.

Job description

Aldwickbury School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide support for a pupil with additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive and who enjoys working closely with pupils, colleagues and families to support learning, development and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will work closely with a pupil to help them participate fully in school life and develop their confidence, independence and social skills. Working alongside class teachers, and external specialists where appropriate, you will help implement support strategies and adaptations that enable the pupil to achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive environment.

We are looking for someone who can build positive and trusting relationships with children whilst maintaining high expectations and encouraging independence. The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable and proactive, with a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.

As part of this role, you will support the implementation of individual support plans, monitor progress and wellbeing, and help ensure a consistent approach to support across school. You will also help facilitate the pupil's participation in lessons, educational visits, social activities and the wider life of the school, ensuring they feel included, successful and valued.
