Job summary

INSPIRE CONNECTED COMMUNITIES TRUST in Louth invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant. The role supports students with a range of learning difficulties, including SEMH and ASD, in a restorative culture, helping them progress academically, emotionally and socially.

The post is 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, Grade G3 Point 6 (£24,796 FTE). The successful candidate will work with the teacher to meet students at their point of need, with safeguarding requirements and DBS checks.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent required.
  • Experience supporting students with learning difficulties, including SEMH/ASD.
  • Energy for supporting positive behaviour and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic, emotional and social support to students.
  • Support students at their point of need and in line with EHCP where appropriate.
  • Assist with small groups as directed by the teacher.
  • Promote development and learning across student-centered activities.
  • Contribute to a coaching culture and staff development.

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT’S

St Bernard’s School, Louth

Grade G3 Point 6 - £24,796 (FTE)

32.5 hours per week / 39 weeks per year

Due to staff progression, we are looking to add to our fantastic team with an enthusiastic, motivated and creative practitioner, initially at St Bernard’s School, employed across the Trust on a permanent basis. As multi-disciplinary practitioner, we hold high expectations and a community wide commitment to supporting the development of our young people, with a wide range of learning difficulties, ranging from moderate to severe/profound and complex, including SEMH and ASD.

Within the role you will work as part of the team in meeting students at their point of need. Experience of working within a restorative culture and utilising strategies in supporting students with profound and complex, sensory, social and emotional needs and Autism is an advantage. The applicant should have energy for supporting positive behaviour, communication and complex needs and have a relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent.

The purpose of this role is to work with students in enabling progress, in accordance with their EHCP where appropriate and / or groups of students, as directed by the teacher. To provide required support academically, emotionally, socially, across a range of student centered activities to promote development and learning.
