Job summary

Berrow Primary Church Academy, located in Burnham-on-Sea, is seeking Learning Support Assistants to join our SEND team. The role focuses on supporting pupils to engage confidently and independently in learning, under teacher supervision.

We welcome candidates with SEN experience, GCSEs, safeguarding commitment, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and families. The role is term-time with some INSET days and offers a supportive environment and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with individual needs, particularly SEN.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and adapt to changing needs.
• Confident delivering pre-planned lessons to small groups.
• Builds strong, positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom support for pupils, planned and supervised by teachers.
• Assist with resource preparation, display and care for pupils, including health care.
• Keep records of work and provide feedback to colleagues and parents as needed.
• Accurately record student records and liaise with colleagues and parents/carers.
