Job summary

St Joseph’s Primary School in Guildford is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help pupils access the curriculum and progress in learning, working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.

The role involves supporting small group interventions, understanding challenges faced by children with additional needs, and maintaining a supportive, empathetic approach to help pupils thrive within a friendly school environment.

Qualifications

• An excellent level of written and spoken English and Maths is essential for this role.
• Ability to operate basic equipment.
• Good listening skills and enthusiasm to learn.
• Accuracy and ability to follow instructions.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to work in our primary school. The successful candidate will have experience supporting children within the classroom with accessing learning and developing all skills. Experience in delivering small group interventions would also be preferable. St Joseph’s is a supportive and friendly primary school.

This is a part time position of 8.45am - 1pm daily with a lunch duty. The post is a permanent position (39 weeks per year), 21.25hrs per week. The salary range (FTE) is £25,331 (pro rata); the actual salary range is £12,913 - £12,993.
