Learning Support Assistants Required in Horsham. (LSAs) *Roles available due to expansion*

Vacancy: Learning Support Assistant

We support a special educational needs school, NAS accredited with an Ofsted rated Good, catering to academically able autistic students with associated difficulties, including ADHD and complex needs. The majority of students will have either a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school's dedicated staff are committed to creating a learning culture that enables the best possible outcomes for their pupils.

We are looking for an individual to support the delivery of agreed learning activities and support pupil learning in various classroom settings, including working with individual pupils as directed. As an LSA, you will contribute to and support the overall aims and ethos of the school.

Specific Duties Include
  1. Work as directed by the Classroom Teachers and Senior Leadership Team.
  2. Understand how a pupil's learning is affected by their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development, and understand the stages of child development.
  3. Make effective and efficient use of ICT for classroom and management support.
  4. Provide support and encouragement to children and young people.
  5. Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem.
  6. Participate in marking pupils' work and accurately record achievement and progress.
  7. Encourage children to value their experiences and knowledge.
  8. Be familiar with and keep up to date with the school's systems and policies, including Health and Safety and Child Protection policies.
  9. Be familiar with and stay informed about the SEN Code of Practice.
