Job description

These five ideals define who we are at Kemnal - and they shape everything that happens inside our classrooms. We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who shares these beliefs and is ready to make a tangible difference to the lives of our pupils every single day.

Please note this vacancy will close at midday on 13/10/2026

In our Trust, a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) SEND is far more than classroom support; you are a key architect in building a child's confidence, independence, and agency. We are seeking an empathetic, proactive team player who can help break down barriers to learning, run targeted interventions, and create an environment where every child feels supported to take on new challenges.

Whether you have years of experience supporting learning, a background in childcare or SEND, or are looking to take your first steps toward a career in education, your talent will be valued here. In our community, support staff are vital partners in driving educational standards and fostering a strong sense of belonging.

Together, let's raise aspirations, unlock potential, and ensure every child - whatever their starting point - deserves to shine.

The ideal LSA SEND will be someone who:
  • Builds warm, positive, and respectful relationships with pupils.
  • Is patient, adaptable, and understanding of diverse educational, social, and emotional needs.
  • Works collaboratively with class teachers to support high-quality learning and classroom management.
  • Confidently delivers targeted one-to-one or small-group interventions in literacy, numeracy, or wellbeing.

Kemnal Academies Trust is a group of schools with ambition for every child and pride in the communities we serve. We provide a broad and rich education that opens doors. Working together, we give every pupil the support and the skills they need to build a life of purpose, agency, and contribution.

Our ultimate aim is to ensure we drive educational standards through the provision of outstanding teaching, leadership, and learning for all. Our leaders focus on pupil progress and attainment, regularly sharing knowledge, insight, and experience across our family of schools. We believe passionately in the power of collaborative working and actively promote school-to-school support-because when we work together, every child benefits.

Our five ideals define who we are and how we work across all 45 of our schools:
  • Ambition: Great schools do what it takes for every pupil to succeed.
  • Community: Schools should serve and respect their community.
  • Opportunity: The point of education is to build lives of agency and contribution.
  • Enrichment: Every pupil deserves to shine.
  • Talent: In education, people matter most.
