Job summary

Ryburn Valley High School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs. The role is 30 hours per week, term-time only plus 2 days, permanent.

  • Support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Assist with implementing individual learning plans in line with teaching strategy.

What the role involves ina nutshell:
  • Actively promote an inclusive learningenvironment by supporting the participation, engagement and achievement of allpupils, ensuring individual needs are recognised, valued and responded toappropriately.
  • Build positive relationships with identifiedstudents to develop their emotional awareness, resilience and positivecoping strategies through planned interventions and nurturingrelationships.
  • Take responsibility for delivering specificlearning activities and interventions both within the classroom and insmall group or 1:1 settings outside the classroom environment, helping toimplement individual learning plans in line with the overall teachingstrategy.
  • Deliver Emotional Literacy Support Assistant(ELSA) interventions or undertake ELSA training to develop the skills andknowledge required to provide high-quality emotional literacy support.Previous ELSA experience or qualification is desirable but not essential,as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
