Job summary

Tewkesbury Academy in Gloucestershire is seeking a Teaching Assistant – Level 1 to support students and deliver tailored learning activities. The role is 32 hours per week during term time, with inset days, and starts mid-October 2026, subject to checks.

You will work to help pupils access the curriculum, manage behaviour, and contribute to both attainment and well-being. Relevant qualifications and a commitment to inclusion are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting learners in a single form entry school.
• Ability to engage students and manage behaviour one-to-one or in small groups.
• Willingness to undertake relevant qualifications (NVQ 2/3, first aid).
• Commitment to inclusion and high expectations.

Responsibilities

• Support students by adopting relevant strategies and techniques to enable access to the curriculum and engagement with learning.
• Deliver planned activities and adapt teaching programs as needed to impact attainment and well-being.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to fulfil the role requirements.
