Job summary

Harris Academy Billericay is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support children with SEND, helping them access learning and participate in lessons.

The actual salary is £16,703.90-£16,960.45 (28.75 hours per week, 38 weeks per year).

We welcome applicants with GCSEs, a good understanding of social and emotional needs, and confidence in communicating with students, parents and staff.

Qualifications

• GCSE level qualifications or equivalent.
• Knowledge and understanding of pupils with social and emotional difficulties that may impact upon their behaviour.
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Microsoft software.
• Some knowledge of social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Support children with SEND in classroom activities and routines.
• Assist pupils to access learning and participate in lessons.
