Job summary

St Michael's Catholic School is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work alongside teachers and specialists, supporting pupils' learning, development, wellbeing and inclusion. The role involves assisting with lessons across whole classes, groups and individuals, and helping create an engaging, safe learning environment across a range of needs including SEND and SEMH.

The LSA will contribute to planning, preparation and supervision of activities, while supporting the delivery

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with diverse needs, including SEND/SEMH.
• Ability to adapt learning materials and resources to access the curriculum.
• Strong communication and teamwork with teaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to discussions with teachers regarding lessons, activities and pupil support.
• Assist in adapting learning materials to enable pupils to access the curriculum effectively.
• Support organisation and management of resources and equipment for learning.
• Assist with planning, organisation and supervision of educational visits and enrichment activities.
• Provide ideas and feedback to support pupil engagement, learning and wellbeing.
• Work alongside teachers to support high-quality teaching and learning across the curriculum.
• Deliver planned interventions and targeted support under guidance of teachers and the SENDCo.
• Encourage pupil participation and provide scaffolding to access learning.
• Support pupils to understand lesson objectives and success criteria.
• Maintain safe, inclusive environments and high expectations for conduct.
