Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students aged 11-18 in a restorative, trauma-informed setting in Reading, with location noted as Wokingham. Qualifications

• Graduates in Criminology, Psychology, Youth Work, or related fields are encouraged to apply (non-graduates with relevant experience are welcome).
• Experience with vulnerable young people or those at risk of gang involvement is desirable; training is provided.
• Empathy and a calm, restorative approach are essential for supporting SEMH needs.

Responsibilities

• Build trust and strong relationships with students aged 11-18 to support emotional regulation.
• Promote positive behaviours using restorative approaches to enable learning.
• Support small groups (4-12) with tailored interventions to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with staff and therapists to implement holistic, trauma-informed strategies.
• Celebrate progress and encourage resilience, guiding reintegration into education and community.
