Job summary

Pirbright Village Primary School in Woking is seeking a motivated Learning Support Assistant to help pupils access learning and support the class teacher. You will assist with activities across the school day, including reading, small-group work, and 1:1 support for children with SEND, while modelling safeguarding and inclusive practices.

The role involves working with children in various year groups, supporting routines, and helping maintain a positive, orderly learning environment.

Qualifications

• A good level of written and spoken English.
• Good level of numeracy.
• Basic IT skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to plan and prioritise tasks.
• Ability to explain instructions to pupils.
• Strong communication with pupils and adults.
• Motivation to support learning and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support specific children to access their learning.
• Undertake usual classroom duties alongside the class teacher.
• Read with pupils, run small groups, and assist with ISPs.
• Work 1:1 with target children and with groups as directed.
• Assist with break and lunch-time activities and learning environment organisation.
